We charge 12.9% of the face value, plus a £2.99 handling fee for each cheque. However, you should be able to claim back the fees we charge, as a tax-deductible cost of doing business.

What do you need to cash a cheque with us
Anti-money laundering regulations require that we are able to prove your identity.
To ensure a speedy transaction it would help if you brought the following:
Photo ID
Current passport or drivers licence is required.
Utility Bill
This must be dated within the past 3 months.
Additional
Proof of Business –
See below
For your business (at least two of the following documents are required):
- Bank Statement (must be dated within the last 3 months)
- Letter from HM Revenue & Customs
- Letter from registered Solicitor
- Letter from registered Accountant
- VAT return/registration number (papers must be produced)
To complete the process, our staff will confirm – through publicly-available sources – that you are a sole trader or sole director of your company. As such, your first visit to set up your business account with us will last approximately 30 – 45 minutes. Future visits should be considerably shorter.
*We cash 99% of the cheque we see at the time they are presented. However, circumstances may be such that you would only receive a part-payment, or payment only upon the cheque clearing our bank account.
